For a city as dense and populated as San Francisco is, there is still large nature preserves that one can escape to to find a brief get-a-way from the a fast-paced life. Climbing into the Presidio gives the feeling of being in a dense and dark forest. Where this is taken is at the apex of one its tallest hills looking down on a small island called 5-mile rock. The fog rushes up against the coast line here and is synonymous with this local. Hold on to the rail when trans versing the steps below, the damp, thick moisture makes for slippery steps.
