Early Work
I can remember the first real art piece I sat down to make. I was 8 years old. It was actually a piece of writing called Yoshi Stories. In short, it was a fan fiction about Yoshi and the all the adventures he went on. I got a hold of a composition notebook and I drew on the cover for this book, Yoshi working up a sweat in the middle of a long race. I had big plans to fill the book with all the adventures that Yoshi would go on and do with his friends. After I finished one story, Yoshi’s Race, I didn’t add more to the book. However, It cemented in me a strong foundation that art is a working process and an expression of true joy. I didn’t fill that entire book with Yoshi stories, but my heart was filled with the passion to make art my number one pursuit in life.
Here is a collection of drawings that I have made after Yoshi Stories and before I started photography.
