Prints and Scans
What’s the difference?
Hand Made Photographs
Darkroom Print - A direct contact print copy of the negative to a piece of photographic paper under a red safelight. (c. 1910)
Alternative Process Print - One of the original methods of printing out the negative into a positive. A piece of fine art paper is sensitized by hand using a dilution of salt, then of silver, and finally is exposed using the brilliance of the sun. (c. 1839)
Digital Scans of Photographic Negatives
I offer scan sizes in a variety of sizes. The most common are in Normal and Super which are 4k and 12k respectively. This is used to make digital prints. While I have the equipment to produce the cleanest digital file for print, I still prefer to make prints by hand. However, I will not stop you from making your own enlargements using modern day equipment.
